Aang is the titular protagonist of the animated television series Avatar: The Last Airbender, also known as Avatar: The Legend of Aang. He first appeared in the show's pilot episode, "The Boy in the Iceberg."

Aang is the last Air Nomad and the current incarnation of the Avatar, destined to master all four elements (air, water, earth, and fire) to bring balance to the world. He was frozen in an iceberg for one hundred years before being discovered by Katara and Sokka of the Southern Water Tribe.

As the Avatar, Aang possesses incredible power, including the ability to "bend" or manipulate the elements. However, he is also a pacifist at heart, struggling with the idea of taking a life, even to defeat the tyrannical Fire Lord Ozai and end the hundred-year war.
